COUNTER TERRORISM WIN!

How do we recognize the difference between normal and abnormal behavior?
By staying alert in our travels and daily routines and getting to know:
  • Who our neighbors are
  • What cars are normally in our neighborhood
  • Who regularly makes deliveries at work
  • Who the regular maintenance and cleaning people are at work
  • What is appropriate in our work area so we can identify what isn’t
Always ask for ID of people who are in a “closed” area or want access to your home!

Pay attention to:
  • Issues that have been in the media.
  • Local/national/international news that may increase the risk for certain groups or facilities.
  • Government-released “threat notices” indicating a threat against a type of facility.
  • Pennsylvania and U.S. threat advisory systems, which help you determine how alert you should be.

Staying alert is NOT paranoia. Staying alert is simply being aware of one’s surroundings. Some indications of possible trouble may include:

  • A local activity that could indicate problems in your community.
  • Previous activity or crimes.
  • Tension between groups.
  • Controversial issues being debated.
  • Suspicious thefts.

OMG I'M BEING SCAMMED!

Tricksters are coming up with new and innovative
phone scams to convince victims to part with their
money. There are many variations to phone scams.
The most common ones are the Lottery Scam
Kidnap Scam and Impersonation Scam.

How to counter?

For example, Lottery Scam:
i. Ignore notifications of a win in a lottery or lucky draw
when you had not purchased any lottery ticket or participated
in any lucky draw.
ii. Do not make any advance payment to claim any prize money.
Winning a lucky draw or lottery does not require you to make any
advance payment.
iii. Do not entertain such SMSes and calls.
iv. Be wary of get-rich-quick offers. If an offer sounds
too good to be true, it is probably a scam.

This goes to all other scams. Be aware of your surroundings or you'll be taken advantage of.

Vandalism

Jon from block 3, Vic Street
Last night was parking car at block 10 level 3 multi-storey car park. He reported to have seen vandalism of people’s car. The cars were sprayed with paint and scratched. Everyone can be on the lookout for each other and inform suspicious characters in our neighborhoods. This are the pictures taken by Jon

Hit and run is a crime.

A female driver met an accident at a multi-storey carpark in Pasir Ris on Jan 28. An eyewitness to the incident said that the male passenger took over the driver's seat and drove off.

According to the eyewitness, a guy parked his car at the multi-storey carpark and went to attend an event at a coffeeshop nearby.

At the event, he coincidentally heard some people talking about a hit-and-run incident at the carpark and a friend of one of the organisers of the event had taken a photo of the incident.

When the victim looked at the photo, he realised one of the cars affected was his.

The eyewitness said:

"The female driver of the grey car hit my car, the yellow Mitsubishi, and another car, a silver Hyundai, after coming down from the upper deck of the multi-storey carpark of Block 444 Pasir Ris.

"She reversed after hitting the cars.

"Her male passenger then took over the driver's seat and drove off!"

One of the pictures taken by the eyewitness apparently shows the female driver standing outside her car as her male companion was taking over the driver's seat, before they both drove off.
